How this was made:
This beautiful zodiac dragon was handsculpted with polymerclay around a wire armature, then painted with acrylics and glitters before being glazed once with polyurethane varnish and again with epoxy resin, to ensure maximum strength and durability of its spines and limbs.
Personality:
The Cancer personality (that this dragon is depicting) is one of warmth, nurturing kindness, fierce protectiveness and a love of safety and security. As it belongs to the water element (associated with emotions) Cancerians have a rich emotional life. Most of their emotions are based on joy, love and happiness, but if you cross one, they are not incapable of defending themselves with their fearsome pincers! More often than not though, their temper only appears in defense of others - to protect the weak and the vulnerable. Cancerians therefore, have a heart of gold and want to fight for the happiness and positive emotions of everyone around them, whilst nurturing their own sense of safety through their love of their home.
Depiction:
As the symbol of Cancer is the crab, this dragon has various crab-like attributes. It has large crab like pincers to defend and protect, and large portions of its body are that rusty crustacian colour, whilst beautiful blues, signifying the water element it belongs to, help to cool everything down and bring a sense of calm to the loving and emotional Cancer.
